In the time in between the last blog post we have started working with UVW Unwrapping. This process makes wrapping models a lot easier and simpler at least for me. UVW unwrap makes it easier to apply textures to different polys and different sections. So far I have used this in two projects which at first took awhile to learn but now is fairly simple to me. The only part of the project that really takes a long time to complete is actually unwrapping the different sections of models while the actual designing of the texture and applying it is a fairly short process. Another nice thing about UVW unwrapping is that the map completely surrounds the model and as long as you cover all the seems in Photoshop looks very neat and realistic. Here is a robot walker that I unwrapped and applied a new texture to. Overall, UVW mapping is pretty difficult to understand at first but after you get used to it, it is very easy.

Recently there have been a lot of new advances with video games. From the handheld console that can be projected on a TV like the switch or the immense amount of new VR games coming out recently, everything is developing. One thing that seems to be very popular right now is battle royale games like Fortnite or Apex Legends. I find these games to be enjoyable when first playing them but after awhile they get repetitive and boring. I also find that while it definitely takes some skill to win at these games, it also takes a decent amount of RNG. For those who do not know RNG stands for Random Number Generator and when people use that term it basically means it is controlled by luck. Because you have to find your own weapons, that is why it is so RNG based. For example, if one person enters a building and finds a terrible gun while another person enters the same building and gets the best gun in the game, it is very easy for the second person to win the gun fight. While this is a problem battle royale games can still be fun and enjoyable even though for me I can not play them for a long period of time.
